We are a couple who desired to add something more to our entry-level lives, so we decided to test the waters in the world of small business. Although we spent much of our four years of college apart, our long-distance relationship kept Jesus at the center of it, and we want to do the same for our business.

Hi there! I'm Katie, the one behind the paintbrush in this duo.

I am a recent Appalachian State alum; hence, the 'Neer part of Neer the Creek in case you were questioning our spelling skills. My passion is to create intentional designs and artwork that spread happiness. I want our work to be meaningful and serve a purpose, just as we are to live a life full of purpose for Jesus.

Breakfast food is my go-to, and I love anything chocolate. I own way too may blankets to count, I'm a "wanna be" plant mom, and I was a collegiate student-athlete on the softball team at App State for four years. Now I work full-time doing social media and graphic design for an athletic department. Neer the Creek is a side hustle that I'd love to turn into a creative career one day.

Hello! I'm the other half of this small business.

For those of you who know me, you understand I am not the one doing the paintings, the calligraphy, or literally anything artistic. For those of you who don’t know me, you’re probably not surprised; but I do have a knack for creative marketing and thinking on my feet. Katie even says I’m pretty witty.

I recently gradated from Campbell University in the little town of Buies Creek, NC. You guessed it - "the Creek" part of Neer the Creek. Pretty witty, right? I work full-time in the sports industry, specifically in marketing and promotions, and I wouldn't want it any other way.

As an Eagle Scout, I love the outdoors. I could eat Mexican food every day, and I love the Dallas Cowboys. I was born and raised in Hickory, NC, but I'd live anywhere as long as Katie's there...and as long as there's sweet tea.

We were SO excited to be featured on Bespoke Bride, a blog that showcases bright colors, creative details and ways to enhance a couple's wedding in unique ways.

We paired with Carolina Occasions' Heather West and Olivia Ragin of Photography by Olivia Taylor along with other vendors to put together a bridal brunch with fun colors and summer vibes!
